Campaign to Halt Biosolids Land Application
Community members in Eastern Washington are coordinating an effort to stop a proposed land application near Mill Canyon Watershed. Citizens have reached out to Washington State Department of Ecology regarding concerns over the potential impacts of land applied biosolids near their community. Protect Mill Canyon members are leading an outreach campaign to generate thousands of email requests to Governor Inslee to halt biosolids application. EPA ECHO Biosolids Database Online
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently launched a new biosolids facility search feature as part of their Enforcement and Compliance History Online (ECHO). This new search function is a result of the NPDES Electronic Reporting Rule that collected Biosolids Annual Reports electronically for the first time this February 2017, replacing the paper-intensive system. Data is now available electronically on the ECHO Biosolids Facility Search that compiles the Annual Report data. Users can also download their search results. If you have questions about this new feature, use the Contact Us form on the ECHO site.
