Global GAP International Alliance
Biosolids work groups from the European Union (EU) and United States have banded together in a cooperative proposal to integrate biosolids beneficial use into Global GAP.  The proposal was presented at the Global GAP Technical Crops Committee this month.  Greg Kester, California Association of Sanitation Agencies, who has served as representative of the U.S. biosolids work group was in attendance and is continuing discussions with the Committee to help answer their specific questions. View the proposal that includes supporting organizations here.

BC Organic Matter Recycling Regulation Webinars

The British Columbia Ministry of Environment recently released the latest intentions paper for proposed amendments to the Organic Matter Recycling Regulation (OMRR). Enacted in 2002, the OMRR governs the construction and operation of composting facilities and the production, distribution, sale, storage, use, and land application of biosolids and compost. The OMRR was developed to facilitate the recycling of organic material while protecting human health and the environment. Review and comments are welcomed through November 7, 2018.  Informational webinars are being offered Oct. 2Oct. 3 and Oct. 4.
